Holidays in India means experiencing a variety of colors, tones and smells! The fascination of India often goes hand in hand with respect and a little overwhelming demand for this completely different and somewhat chaotic country. With good travel planning and the right route, nothing can go wrong!

With this varied trip to the highlights of Rajasthan you will discover many sides of India in a short time and get an insight into the culture and nature of the country. Visit the lively cities with their little streets, the traditional markets and the beautiful temples. You go on camel rides, a sunset boat ride on Lake Pichola and many other exciting excursions! Of course, a trip to India’s landmark, the Taj Mahal in Agra, and a train ride should not be missing.

Travel planning: Extend your trip with a beach stay in Goa or the Maldives and spend a few more relaxing days at the Indian Ocean.

Day 1: Flight to Delhi

Day 2: Arrival in Delhi
After breakfast a city tour through the capital of India, which combines Old & New Delhi, awaits you. You explore the Red Fort, the Jama Masjid and then take a rickshaw through the Chowk Bazaar to the Raj Ghat. The tour continues to India Gate, through the government district with the parliament building and presidential palace and ends at the 800-year-old Kutab Minar.

The next day, after noon in Delhi, you will be taken to the train station and board the train to Agra. The site of the Taj Mahal can be reached by Indian Railroad after dark. You will be picked up at the train station and taken to the hotel.

Day 3: Taj Mahal
In the morning you will visit one of the landmarks of India, the Taj Mahal, certainly one of the highlights of any visit to the subcontinent. Then you visit the Fort of Agra with its mighty walls and labyrinth-like interior structures.

In the afternoon you drive to Rajasthan, more precisely to Jaipur. Along the way, make a stop in the city of Fathepur Sikri, the short-lived capital of Emperor Akbar. The city impresses with its beautiful architecture with buildings made of red sandstone.

Upon arrival in Jaipur, transfer to the hotel.

Day 4: Jaipur
Today you drive to the Amber Fort in Jaipur. Rather rugged from the outside, the fort is an architectural paradise on the inside with its richly decorated facades. You walk through Jag Mandir (the hall of victory) with the famous mirror room Sheesh Mahal.

In the afternoon you will take a tour of the city: you will visit the city palace of the Maharaja, which is now a museum. A visit to the Jantar Mantar, an observatory made of stone and marble, is also planned

Day 5: Bikaner
Today you drive almost to the Pakistani border in Bikaner and you will be brought to your hotel. Explore the city with its imposing walls, palaces and temples in the afternoon. The fort impresses with its pavilions and balconies in different styles. The Joramal Temple is also on the program.

Outside the city, you will then visit the tombs of Devi Kund and a camel breeder’s farm, the only one of its kind in Asia.

6-7 Day: Jaisalmer
You stay in the area and drive to Jaisalmer, where you will be transferred to the hotel. After checking in, you go to the sand dunes in the area, where you can take a short camel ride at sunset and experience the desert in western India.

Morning tour through Jaisalmer: In this former caravan crossing point you can marvel at the fortress high above the houses, the filigree carved house facades and the old merchant palaces – a city like from 1001 nights!

Then on to Jodhpur, the “Blue City” and transfer to the hotel.

8th-9th Day: Jodhpur and Udaipur
Jodhpur is the gateway to the Thar desert and impresses with its forts, palaces and beautiful town houses. Around 100 fortification towers and a well-preserved city wall protect this interesting city, which you visit in the morning.

After that, continue to Udaipur. On the way you stop at the Jain Temple of Ranakpur with its 1444 different columns and its amazing play of light and shadow. Upon arrival in Udaipur, transfer to the hotel.

The next day you explore Udaipur: The majestic City Palace is on the program, along with other sights. In the afternoon you will experience another highlight of Indian sights: You will take a sunset boat trip on Lake Pichola and admire the fantastic Lake Palace on one of the islands in the lake.

Day 10: Mumbai
You will be brought to the airport in Udaipur and fly to the metropolis of Mumbai. There you will be met by the guide. You will take a city tour and visit, among other things, the Gateway to India, Marine Drive and the “Hanging Gardens” on Malabar Hill. Dinner in town. The next day you will be driven to the airport for your flight home or for the beach extension.

11-16 Day beach extension: Goa or Maldives
You will be brought to the airport in Mumbai and fly to the beach in Goa or the Maldives. At the end of your vacation, enjoy a few relaxing days by the sea. On the last day transfer to the airport.
